Microlino pioneer series unveiling & virtual launch event

“It’s time. It is a limited Microlino edition and the very first 999 vehicles running off the production line in Turin.

“The Pioneer Series is for all of you who have been supporting us since day one. The ones who reserved their Microlino almost 6 years ago when we first showed our Microlino concept car at the Geneva Car Show. Those of you who participated in all our surveys and helped us to bring the Microlino to life. You believed in us, despite the challenges.

“Cheers to you, you are all true Pioneers!

“The Pioneer Series will come in two distinct colors that are only available in this specific edition. We call them Atlantis Blue and Torino Aluminum. They both perfectly reflect the soul of the Microlino: a retro charm with a modern look.

“This edition will be limited to 999 vehicles, as an homage to our first innovation, the Micro Scooter that our founder Wim Oboter invented in 1999. Each Pioneer Series Microlino has its own unique number, visible on the inside.

“The Pioneer Series Microlinos are equipped with a 10.5 kWh battery, which will get you up to 177 km of range. They all have a sunroof for the ultimate summer feeling, premium interior in vegan leather and suede and portable Bluetooth speakers that seamlessly connect with your phone.

“Together with you we would like to celebrate the upcoming launch of the Microlino and invite you to join our virtual launch event which we will stream live on Youtube on Tuesday the 24th of May at 5 pm

“Apart from the launch dates of all the other editions and news about the start of the configurator, we will introduce the Pioneer Membership that will grant you lots of exclusive benefits. If you want to learn more, make sure to save the date.”

Self-purifying electrolyte enables high energy Li-ion batteries

“TEOSCN molecules in electrolyte can effectively eliminate the reactive pernicious species, while the anions of FSI-dominate the interphase components with low-resistance on both graphite and Ni-rich NMC cathode although at an essentially low concentration. This self-purifying electrolyte system enables long-term cycling of the MCMB||NMC811 full-cells for 1000 cycles with an ultra-high capacity retention of 91% at 25°C and for 500 cycles with a retention of 81% at 60°C .

“Even in extreme cases, ie, exposed in the air for 1 h, this electrolyte can still allow stable charge-discharge cycling of MCMB||NMC811 full-cells without degradation, which can largely simplify the manufacturing processes of LIBs. The ‘self-purifying-plus-passivation’ strategy opens a promising frontier for the electrolyte engineering towards next-generation high-energy LIBs.”
